A New Study Claims High Consumption Of Coffee Might Increase Life Expectancy Among People

June 9, 2021 by Jennifer Preston Leave a Comment

A growing number of studies on coffee have revealed a multitude of beneficial effects of this beverage. A new study has confirmed that a higher intake of coffee might be able to improve life expectancy among people. The findings of the study have supported the outcomes of a previous study on coffee consumption. The new study has specified how much coffee one should drink every day to live longer as compared to people who do not drink this beverage. The new coffee study has been put together by experts from Chung-Ang University and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. The study has revealed the health benefits of regular coffee use on people’s overall health. Experts who have been involved in the new coffee study have said that higher intake of coffee is linked to reduced risk of all-cause mortality. The authors of the study have said that to have real benefits of coffee, people need to drink more than three cups of coffee each day. The real benefit of the beverage does not depend on the type of coffee, said the experts. The findings of the new coffee study have been released in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The authors of the study have revealed that participants who have been having at least three cups of coffee each day have been found to be at a lower risk of death due to cardiovascular disease as compared to people who have not been drinking coffee. As per the experts, having three cups of coffee is considered moderate consumption of the beverage. Experts have said that people who have been drinking less than three cups of coffee as well have been at a lower risk of death due to heart ailments. The study has enrolled nearly 173209 participants who have been in the age range of 40 years and above from 2004 to 2013. Experts have ruled out those participants who have been dealing with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or cancer. In the end, experts have been left with a sample size of 110920 participants. The authors of the study have observed the impact of coffee intake along with its quality and type on mortality. The findings of the study have supported the results of an old study that has been done in 2015. The old study has found that having three to five cups of coffee each day can reduce the risk of premature death by 15 percent as compared to people who have been not having the beverage. Health experts have said that the beneficial effects of coffee go beyond reducing multiple risk factors that can cause death.

The authors of the study have said that drinking coffee before a workout shoots up the rate of fat burn. However, experts have said that despite the valuable effects of regular coffee intake, people should consume it within the limit. A recent study has found that people should not consume more than four regular-sized cups of brewed coffee per day that is nearly 400 milligrams of coffee. Scientists around the world continue to look at varying impacts of coffee on people’s overall health. A different study that has been done in 2015 has shown that men who drink two to three cups of coffee each day are at a lower risk of erectile dysfunction. The latest study has found that regular caffeine intake affects the gray matter in a region of the brain that is responsible for memory function. The same study has found that regular caffeine intake does not adversely affect sleep quality or memory function. However, the study has noted that these effects are momentary. A part study has shown that after caffeine intake, mice have been able to deal with stress in a better way and have been able to score better in memory tests as compared to the animals that have been given water regularly in the control group.
