After Lengthy Wait, Instagram Users Now Allowed To Post Photos, Videos From Their Desktop

October 25, 2021 by Talkherald Leave a Comment

After years of wait, Instagram is finally letting you post photos and videos from the desktop. The photo-sharing platform has been sharing a flurry of updates. As part of these updates, the social media space is allowing folks to post through their computer browser without relying on the phone app. The feature is likely to be rolled out worldwide later this week. This would be extremely helpful for those who always wanted to make better use of their expensive cameras. The one thing that users need to keep in mind is that videos under one minute will be allowed to be posted from the desktop.

Posting from the computer browser has been one of the most requested features. There were users who went on to try several alternative methods in order to do it. But the official method is expected to be much simpler and streamlined than that offered by third-party solutions. Instagram had already allowed users to access their feed through the browser. But that was limited to only checking updates and messaging. There are a number of updates that the company has released for mobile users too. This is because Instagram has been for years a phone-only app. And there are still many users who find it sharing photo and videos from phones more convenient than using it from a computer browser.

Meanwhile, Instagram is also trying to take on TikTok and several of the new features have been designed to improve creativity. The company has decided to expand its collaboration for features that will allow customers to post photos easily with co-authors. The company has also changed fundraiser promotes. This will allow users to directly start a fundraiser. Now Reels will have some music elements as well. There would be some added effects like Superbeat that automatically adds effects based on the beat of a song. There will now be 3D lyrics that will be displayed in tune with the melody.
