Buffalo to require full vax for fans beginning Oct. 31

Fans will have to be fully vaccinated in order to attend games in Buffalo beginning Oct. 31.

The Bills made the announcement Tuesday, in compliance with a directive given by the Erie County Department of Health. The directive applies to Buffalo Sabres games, too.

Further, fans are required to have a minimum of one vaccination dose to attend Bills’ home games on Sept. 26 vs. Washington and Oct. 3 vs. the Houston Texans.

“We’ve worked collaboratively with the county over the last several weeks, months, all throughout the pandemic,” Pegula Sports and Entertainment executive vice president Ron Raccuia said. “We are looking to provide the safest environment for our fans that we possibly can. We’re thankful for this collaboration. We feel like this is the right move going forward.”

The Bills host the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 31.

Guests under 12 do not need to be vaccinated but will be required to wear a mask. Fans 12 and over will no longer need to wear a mask starting Oct. 31, given the vaccination entry requirement.

Fans will need to bring their physical vaccination card that shows they had their second shot — or only shot of the Johnson & Johnson — two weeks before attending a game.

The Sabres open their regular season at home on Oct. 14 and play their first four games at KeyBank Center.
