Elon Musk Describes Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Beta v10 As Mind-Blowing As Company Pushes For Wider Release

September 18, 2021 by Eddie Worrell Leave a Comment

Tech enthusiast Elon Musk has described Tesla’s latest version of Full Self-Driving software as mind-blowing. The electric vehicle maker has now started rolling out the Beta v10 of its Full Self-Driving software. Tesla said vehicle owners can now get early access to the software. The software drives Tesla vehicles automatically. According to the company’s claim, the improved version of the software is capable of driving vehicles on highways and city streets with more perfection. It, however, needs supervision by a person sitting behind the setting in case of any emergency. The Bets v10 is being considered as a level 2. Level 2 is a semi-automated driving system and requires regular supervision by a human.

According to Tesla, the driver will be responsible for the vehicle’s momentum. The driver will have to keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times. It said that the driver should be ready to take control of the vehicle anytime. The wider release of the beta version of Tesla’s Full-Self Driving software comes after the older version was leaked on the internet. Tesla was testing the software with a limited group which included some of its customers. The testing is being done under the company’s early access program. Tesla will need a few weeks to complete the tuning of the software. A public beta button will be added that will take the form of a download button. Tesla vehicle owners will have to purchase the Full Self-Driving package.

Musk has been vocal about a full-self-driving system for a long. But his company has failed to deliver software that drives a car automatically in a real sense. The company even faced criticism from several quarters after its vehicles were involved in accidents. Several Tesla vehicle owners say that they have received the early access program. The company has updated the driving visualizations to make it look clean. Tesla in past changed its deadline multiple times for rolling out Full Self-Driving software. Musk had earlier set 2018 as the deadline for rolling out the FSD. But it didn’t happen and the date was pushed further to 2019. But Tesla missed this deadline too. The FSD program was launched in 2020 to selected customers under its early access program.
