Google Testing New YouTube Tool On Android For Collaborators

December 31, 2019 by Jennifer Preston Leave a Comment

Tech giant Google is testing a new tool for YouTube on Android. The new feature will make it easier for viewers to find more creators and content they wish to watch. The new tool will be called ‘featured in this video’. It will work automatically, meaning it will not require the involvement of the video’s creator. The Google-owned platform said it will add creators to the section using a range of signals. Besides providing links, it will add the option to subscribe to the channel then and there. YouTube noted it will make easier for users to discover new creators and become a member of the channels.

The feature is currently in the testing phase. It is available to a small group of people. The company said its product teams will study the feedback before the global launch. Reports suggest the feature will be rolled out soon if things go as per the plan. YouTube said the new tool will be beneficial for creators who work to push new content. This feature will cut manual intervention as creators will no longer need to manage links in the description box. Viewers will more easily discover channels they may be interested in. This means the description will look cleaner now. The ‘featured in this video’ section will appear right below the video.

The ‘featured in this video’ is in line with previous additions to YouTube like automatic music credits and suggested products. Users who are eager to know more about the tool are advised to update the YouTube app via Play Store. This may help in getting you in the team which has access to the tool. YouTube has asked such users to submit feedback and also report potential technical issues to help teams to make it friendly and produce error-free results. The popular video-sharing platform recently launched a remote control-like interface to allow users to search for videos with voice. The feature works on both Android and iOS devices.
