Elon Musk Offers Twitter Changes That No One Wants

April 11, 2022 by Jennifer Preston Leave a Comment

Elon Musk, Twitter’s most ” passionate believer” and fierce critic, is back on our Twitter feeds to suggest fixes for the social media site. This comes not long after he became a strong voice in company decision-making.

Musk posted a series of tweets on April 9-10, sharing a number of suggestions he would like to see the site implement. These included an automatic verification checkmark for Twitter blue subscribers and an end of ads. Musk explained that Twitter relies on advertising money for its survival.

When Elon Musk released a proposal last week to radically change Twitter, the response was mixed. Some people loved the idea of adding features like live streaming and new ways to discover content, while others worried about how this would affect the social media platform’s already shaky reputation. In this introduction, we’ll explore why Musk thinks these changes are necessary and what they could look like.

Parag Agrawal, Twitter CEO, announced that Musk would join Twitter’s board on April 5. This was not long after the billionaire bought a 9.2 percent stake in the company. He also cemented his position as the company’s biggest individual shareholder.

Musk’s tweets come in a flurry at odd hours and often seem to contradict one another. But he has hinted that he wants to make changes to the way Twitter works.

Musk responded to a few comments by users, acknowledging that paid Twitter models are not accessible, and suggesting that subscriptions can be purchased with Dogecoin. Musk stated that he would like to see different verification marks for average users and public figures.

Musk’s tweets are, as most of his online presence, a mixture of genuine opinion, exaggerations, and attention-grabbing exaggerations.

Some of his suggestions were laughable (we hope), and the new board member polled his followers about them. He removed the “w” from Twitter and gauged public opinion to make Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters a homeless shelter. Since no one shows up.

However, Musk’s realistic fantasies could still be realized in the future.

As usual, Twitter users responded to Musk’s tweets with support and fury. The latter replied with reminders of his previous COVID-19 denial Tweets, his recent Starlink ventures in Ukraine, and general criticism of Musk’s billionaire existence.

We are prompted by Musk’s thread and his newfound influence to ask the age-old question: What’s happening over at Twitter? We don’t know.

Twitter should stay the way it is because it works well for current users and continues to grow. The platform has remained popular among its users, despite changes made by other social media platforms. Twitter is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, share news, and exchange ideas. Twitter should change because it needs to be more accessible. Twitter has been successful in this area, but the company hasn’t done enough to make the platform easier for people to use.
