Scientists Discover Light First Time From Behind A Black Hole Of Galaxy Located 800 Million Light-Years Away

August 3, 2021 by David Barret Leave a Comment

Scientists have detected a light directly from behind the black hole. This is the first time scientists have detected such a phenomenon. In scientific terms, a black hole is a place in space. The gravity is so high that nothing can get out from the black hole. Even light cannot escape due to the extremely high gravitational force. Notably, Albert Einstein had earlier predicted the current scenario. The phenomenon was explained in his theory of general relativity. However, it was never confirmed. But the latest discovery has now attested the theory. Scientists say that light was observed at the center of a galaxy. The galaxy is said to be located around 800 million light-years away from Earth.

Scientists said that they observed an intriguing pattern. A series of bright flares of X-rays-exciting was noticed at the center. This was not new to them, but what amazed them were additional flashes from behind. These flashes were quite smaller. Besides, they were of different colors. The study was done by a team at Stanford University in California. It is among the world’s leading teaching and research universities. Scientists noted that the luminous echoes at the center of the black hole were consistent with X-rays. They added that the discovery was the first of its kind because it is a strange place from where light can come out.

Scientists explained that when any electromagnetic radiation including light goes into a black hole, it doesn’t come out. This is because of the strong gravitational pull there. Therefore, nothing should be visible from behind the black hole. They predicted that a possible reason could be that the black hole is warping space. The motto behind the research was to understand the mysteries of black holes. Meanwhile, another team of astrophysicists has discovered an oversized black hole population. It is called Palomar 5. It was found in a star cluster. The cluster was first discovered in 1950. It is located at a distance of 80,000 light-years from Earth.
