Twitter Extends Tipping Feature To Android Users To Send And Receive Money Directly

Microblogging platform Twitter is rolling out a new feature for its Android users. The feature is designed to send and receive money on the platform. It is a tipping feature. It is called Tips. The company said that users can use the latest feature to tip others. It is an in-app feature. However, it is available to users who are above 18 years of age. Twitter’s support page said that the new feature will allow users to look towards getting financial support on the platform from their followers. Users can send money through several online payment platforms directly to the app. Users will require to

Android users will require to get set up to receive tips. They can get the setup from their profile page. They will have to tap the Edit button under the profile page. Twitter has added a Tips section under the Edit button. Users will have to select the Tips button to start receiving tips. The company said that the feature is aimed at paving a way for users to link their payment profiles. Besides, it will be making it easier for users to drive the conversation on the platform. It will support a creator, help users in raising funds, tip someone in need, and thank someone. Twitter had in May first introduced the feature. Reports were suggesting that the company is planning to add an option to allow users to make a direct payment.

The launch of Tips follows the introduction of Ticketed Spaces on Android. Twitter launched Ticketed Spaces to allow the hosts to monetize their accounts. Hosts have been given the ability to create Ticketed Spaces. The feature is aimed at rewarding the hosts for the experiences. Hosts can decide the ticket prices. They can also decide the number of tickets that can be up for sale. Twitter said that it will let the hosts keep the majority of the revenue generated from the sales. It will only charge a small amount. Twitter had introduced Spaces on iOS initially. It expanded the feature to Android later. It allows users to talk in real-time.
